ARDIAN RECEIVES €48 MILLION REFINANCING FOR MONTE GRIGHINE WIND FARM IN SARDINIA

4 New Monte Grighine S.r.l., a company controlled by the Ardian private equity fund and owner of the Monte Grighine wind farm in Sardinia, was granted a €48 million refinancing facility from a pool of banks, including Bnp Paribas and Bnl.
In the transaction, Ashurst advised the pool of credit institutions, including Bnp Paribas in its capacity of agent, structuring mandated lead arranger, mandated lead arranger and lender, and Bnl, as accounts bank. L&B Partners advised 4 New Monte Grighine as borrower of the loan.
The Monte Grighine wind park extends over the localities of Mogorella, Siamanna and Villaurbana. The wind farm consists of a total of 43 wind turbines. Each turbine produces a nominal power of 2300 kW and the park as a whole has a total nominal output of 98.9 MW.
Ardian had acquired 50% of the wind farm in June 2019 from Athena Investments as part of a larger transaction that also involved other sites. The remaining 50% of the park was owned by EDF Renewables, which in turn sold it to Ardian.
